Brussels’ New Ops Director

On September 1, Brussels Airport will welcome its new Director of Operations (DOO), Ruben Sicking (40), formerly Director of Airside Operations at Amsterdam Schiphol.
The DOO position is new to Brussels Airport and co-ordinates all its operational services.
Mr Sicking’s responsibilities include safety and security, passenger services, fire and emergency services, operational planning and other duties linked to the airport’s efficiency and service quality levels. He will also have a seat on the management committee.
Mr Sicking has held several operational positions at Schiphol and has also been Managing Director of the Dutch regional airport of Lelystad.
In a statement issued by Brussels Airport’s press office, its CEO Wilfried Van Assche, said: “The arrival of our new Director of Operations will allow us to respond even more quickly and efficiently to the needs of our customers and partners. I am convinced that this will translate into an even better airport product. Ruben is a strong leader who will bring a vast experience in airport operations.”
