Paris and Amsterdam Seal Alliance

Paris airports operator Aeroports de Paris (AdP) says it has agreed an alliance with the Schiphol Group that will allow their airports to boost competitiveness.
The Paris and Amsterdam airports are already linked through their strong mutual dependence on Franco-Dutch airline Air France-KLM, but until now have operated as rivals.
The deal involves the French state selling an 8% stake of AdP to the Schiphol Group for a total of €530m (US$700.6m). In return AdP acquires 8% of the Schiphol Group for €370m (US$478m).
With passenger traffic stagnating due to the world’s recent economic troubles, the two airport operators will co-operate to share routes via their Paris and Amsterdam hubs.
“This acquisition and our future co-operation with Schiphol Group will bring great value to our shareholders, customers and employees:” said ADP Chairman and Chief Executive Pierre Graff.
