Emirates Complete Terminal Transfer

Emirates transferred all its flights to the new Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport in early November. This marked the fourth and final phase in the move and involved flights to the Indian subcontinent, East Asia and Australasia, and made up around 40% of the carrier’s total operations.
Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths said in November that the phased approach was intended to avoid the chaos witnessed when London Heathrow’s Terminal 5 (T5) opened earlier in 2008.
Emirates said more than 1,700 flights, 377,500 passengers and 267,000 pieces of baggage successfully went through the terminal during the first 20 days of operation.
