SR Technics Closes Dublin Base

The SR Technics Group has announced that it intends to close its operation at Dublin Airport, Ireland with the loss of 1,135 jobs. According to the company: “The recent loss of major contracts from primary load customers in Dublin, the current business and economic forecasts as well as the high cost base of the operation means it will not be possible to fill the resulting capacity gaps with sustainable business in the medium-term.”
Line maintenance operations carried out by the company at the airport will not be affected at present, but there are plans to transfer them to another provider in the future. The company has stated that the closure will have no impact on its other operations throughout the Group, including its facility in Cork.
