Possible Turnaround Restrictions for B787s

Although Boeing has approved all the equipment for the first flight of the B787 Dreamliner, it is to change some landing gear components on later production models. This is aimed at enhancing turnaround operations by improving the thermal performance of part of the braking system.
Early B787s may be limited in some quick turnaround situations after a landing that raises the brake temperature past a certain threshold. According to the manufacturer, the problem does not lie with the brakes themselves but in the remote data concentrator (RDC) units on the main landing gear axles.
