Germany’s CONRAC displayed its latest generation of flat screens for digital signage, which are largely characterised by their almost frameless design which have a bezel width of less than 0.6 inches (15mm).
The company says that the combination of high resolution and excellent image quality makes its Narrow Bezel series: “the ideal displays for cluster solutions,” adding that large display walls can be created using large flat-screens. CONRAC’s video electronics supports cluster solutions of up to four by four displays without any need for additional hardware.
An integrated Master Display function allows the user to control all displays simultaneously via a RS232 port and predefined cluster configurations can be selected via an on-screen-menu. The Narrow Bezel series is available in various screen sizes, the smallest being 42 inch (106cm) diagonal. Special transflective panels for use in direct sunlight as well as integrated Industrial PCs or Controller Boards can be supplied.
The market trend towards even larger screen sizes continues to create a further challenge for the manufacturers as the larger the display panels is, the more heat it will develop. With this mind, CONRAC has also introduced a brand-new Public Display series with a new cooling system, which lowers the screen’s temperature in order to extend the display’s working life. This ‘intelligent’ maintenance system works in two cycles, an open loop and a closed loop. Despite the Public Displays’ laminated safety glass panel, it cools the front and back of the Thin-Film-Technology (TFT) panel. Furthermore, a new sealing method has been introduced to reduce dust accumulation inside the display.
