Kuwait is to build a new $2.7 billion terminal in order to triple capacity at its international airport.  Faisal Al Ostad of Kuwait’s Ministry of Public Works said that the new facility, planned to be finished by November 2016, will have an annual capacity of 13mppa; this will raise the airport’s capacity to 20mppa.
Four companies; from the UK, France, Germany and the USA have submitted bids to design the terminal.  The winning bidder will be revealed in December and a tender issued in May 2012 for the engineering, procurement and construction contract for the terminal.
