December 16: Airbus’s new facility in China has met all its targets for 2009, the company has announced. To date eleven A320 family aircraft have been delivered from Final Assembly Line China (FALC) in Tianjin on schedule.
The first A320 assembled at the FALC was delivered to Sichuan Airlines via Dragon Aviation Leasing on June 23; since then, five A320 and five A319 have followed with deliveries to Sichuan Airlines, Deer Air, Shenzhen Airlines and China Eastern Airlines.
“When we started operations in August 2008, we had two challenges: deliver Airbus quality from Tianjin and ensure a smooth ramp up of production,” said Laurence Barron, Airbus China President.
