December 23: Boeing announced the delivery of four 737-900ER aircraft to Indonesian carrier Lion Air and the order of two 737-800s for French-owned airline Air Austral.
The Lion Air aircraft will be used on existing routes, replacing older aeroplanes in the fleet, while the Air austral order is the first for the 737-800 with the airline and will replace earlier 737-300 and -500 models.
