Avinor Domestic traffic up by 5.6%

ALMOST 3.2 MILLION passengers travelled through Avinor’s airports in November 2009, up 3.5% compared to the same month last year.  Domestic traffic was +5.6%, while international traffic fell by 1.1%.  Avinor’s largest airport, Oslo Gardermoen, achieved a 4% passenger growth during the same period.  Domestic traffic is up 7.6%, while international traffic was up 0.3%.
Bodø had an 8.2% increase in traffic; Trondheim Værnes and Tromsø Langnes also recorded an increase of 5.5% and 1.8% respectively.  At Bergen Flesland and Stavanger Sola the decline in was 1.9% and 0.6% respectively, compared to the same month last year.
The medium-sized airports had an average growth of 7.3%.  The largest increase here was at Molde, Årø, with 37.4%.  This is due to competition on the Oslo route in recent months.
Avinor’s regional airports had a 6.3% increase in passenger figures compared to November 2008.
During the same period the number of aircraft movements dropped by 0.5%.  A total of more than 35 million passengers have travelled through Avinor’s airports between January and November 2009; a drop of 4.8% compared to last year.
