Kenyan Profit

KENYA AIRWAYS has reported a profit for the first half of this financial year (ending September 2009), citing a favourable foreign exchange rate and the resurgence of crude oil prices as the main reasons.  It posted a 17% rise in pre-tax profit to $15.9 million, despite little movement on its passenger numbers and cargo volumes.  Group Finance Director Alex Mbugua said the airline had put in place several initiatives to maintain the good performance during the second half of the year.
