Toronto Island to become Billy Bishop

TORONTO CITY’S island airport will officially be renamed Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport after Canada’s greatest flying ace and Victoria Cross recipient, William Avery Bishop, who was credited with shooting down 72 enemy aircraft during World War One.  However, protestors concerned about the airport’s continuing development say that regardless of its name change, the facility must go if Toronto is to realise its plans to revitalise its dilapidated waterfront.
