IN A reversal of the trends of other major carriers, Brazilian airline TAM has added a First Class cabin on its daily Boeing 777-300ER services between London/Heathrow and São Paulo/Guarulhos.  The carrier says that it reflects the increase in premium business traffic between the UK and Brazil.  The new First Class cabin will have four seats, with another 56 in Business and 302 in Economy.
Passengers in First Class can choose their own amenity items from a selection carried on board.  These include natural products from the Greek Korres range, as well as pyjamas, slippers and eyeshades.  On board entertainment includes individual 23in (58cm) screens offering 24 video channels, TV programmes, and documentaries.  There are 11 music channels, and a further choice of a 50-CD library to enjoy.  At an extra cost, First Class passengers can also book a fast helicopter transfer to-and-from São Paulo’s Guarulhos Airport and the downtown airport of Congonhas.
As well as the London service, TAM offers a First Class option on its flights linking São Paulo to Frankfurt, Paris, Madrid, New York, Miami and Orlando, as well as the flights from Rio de Janeiro to Paris and New York.
