March 15: Air France has revealed that it filed a complaint against Ryanair with the European Commission at the end of November last year.
The airline says that the agreements Ryanair has with “at least 25 French regional airports” for reduced airport taxes, preferential ground handling rates or marketing aid are contrary to European regulations as they are considered to be permanent subsidies.
Air France also claims that the subsidies are “often financed by the airport taxes paid by other airlines at these airports”.
Ryanair has yet to respond.
