April 14: French private airline Aigle Azur received its first directly-purchased brand new Airbus A319 at Hamburg. The new aircraft will join Aigle Azur’s fleet of ten A320 Family aircraft, comprising three A319s, three A320s and four A321s.
Founded in 1946, Aigle Azur claims to be the longest established private French airline. It became an Airbus operator in 2003 and since 2005 has operated an all-Airbus fleet. The airline carries passengers to major tourist destinations in Southern Europe, the Mediterranean basin and Northern and Western Africa.
