Aeroflot Set To Introduce In-Flight Connectivity

RUSSIAN NATIONAL carrier Aeroflot Russian Airlines has entered into a partnership with local mobile telephone provider MegaFon to introduce In-Flight data services for its passengers.  The carrier will become the first Russian operator to enable its passengers to send and receive SMS and MMS messages and to access the Internet via mobile telephone devices when it commences a trial this summer.  Its first aircraft with the system is due to enter service on June 1, with three further aircraft following later in the year.
Meanwhile, the Russian flag carrier has introduced its tenth Airbus A330-343X into its fleet.  It has been christened F Tyutchev after a former Russian Romantic poet, diplomat, journalist and correspondent member of the St Petersburg Academy of Sciences.
