Quantum Wins IGI Contract

ON APRIL 13 Quantum Aviation Solutions was awarded a contract by New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IATA -IGI) to install BagScan, Baggage Tracking and Reconciliation System (BTRS), at the new Terminal 3 (T3). Quantum says its BagScan product will integrate with the airport’s baggage handling system (BHS) to enable real-time bag tracking throughout the airport.  Quantum says this provides: “visibility of all baggage from check-in or transfer baggage induction points, through to multi-level in-line screening check-points, outsize/out-of-gauge, and baggage loading points.”
Garry Earner, Vice President EMEA, Quantum Aviation Solutions said: “This prestigious contract rubber stamps Quantum as a recognised and trusted solution provider in the BRS market.  Whether hosting international airport and airline operations from Quantum’s data centre, or deploying BagScan locally like IGI, Customers benefit from a quality product and more importantly, service excellence.”
Under the contract, Quantum’s BagScan will help the airport stakeholders manage the reconciliation and tracking of domestic and international baggage.  Quantum says BagScan’s scalable architecture means that it will be capable of providing reconciliation and baggage tracking for IGI’s projected 70 million passengers per annum operation.
Last year Quantum completed the BagScan installation at New Delhi / IGI’s domestic Terminal 1D.
