INDIRA GANDHI International Airport in Delhi, India, will open its new Terminal 3 on July 3, which will have a capacity of 34mppa. International airlines and domestic carriers such as Air India, Jet Airways and Kingfisher will make T3 their new home. With major work now complete, the finishing touches are now being made in readiness for the opening. Initial trials at T3 were completed in January and will be followed by advanced trials in April, lasting throughout June. Air India will be the first airline to move into the terminal in June. Building work on the 4,951,561sq ft (460,000m²) structure began in February 2007.
