Transaero receives its 50th aircraft

June 17: Russian carrier Transaero Airlines has received its fourth Boeing 777 aircraft, also the 50th aircraft in the carrier’s fleet.
The 777 is the first of four Boeing 777s that the airline expects to receive from Singapore Airlines as part of a financial lease agreement signed in April. The new aircraft will be incorporated into operations on domestic and international routes.
The acquisition is part of Transaero’s ongoing fleet development and modernisation programme that will see four more Boeing 777s added to the fleet in the coming months. The carrier plans to acquire an additional nine 747-400 aircraft while phasing out its classic Boeing 747-200s.
