According to Aviation Safety News, there were six crew members and 146 passengers on board but the head of Pakistan’s civil defence said no-one had survived. The aircraft was operating a scheduled service, Flight ED 202, from Karachi to Islamabad and airblue said the flight crashed “during poor weather and thick fog”.
Airbus says AP-BJB was MSN (Manufacturer Serial Number) 1218, initially delivered from the production line in 2000. The aircraft was leased to airblue in January 2006 and it had accumulated approximately 34,000 flight hours in some 13,500 flights. It is only the second A321 to be lost.
