TURKEY’S Gazipaşa airport, operation of which was taken over by TAV Airports Holding in 2007 for a period of 25 years, received its first scheduled flight on July 12. Borajet Airlines’ Flight BRJ600, an ATR72, arrived from Istanbul at 12:50 and was welcomed by TAV Gazipaşa officials. Among the first passengers were Kadir Peker, General Director of Borajet Airlines, and VIPs who have contributed to the development of tourism in the region.
The airport, which will be run by TAV Gazipaşa until July 2034, has the capacity to serve 500,000 passengers annually. It has a 23,079sq ft (2,144m2) terminal building and a 150-space car park.
