THE ULTRA modern passenger terminal at The London Heliport in Battersea officially opened on July 14 – just in time for the Farnborough Airshow.  Many company executives made use of it during the event.  The heliport is run by PremiAir, the UK’s leading executive helicopter services company, on behalf of the von Essen Group, which owns the heliport.  There will also be the Hotel Verta, a luxury hotel adjoining the passenger terminal that is due to open in September.
The new heliport development, which has been ongoing for two years, will also provide additional helicopter parking capacity, a totally rebuilt and upgraded control tower and modern facilities for the fire and rescue team.  The company says it now offers world-class business aviation facilities, a major improvement over the previous facilities which dated back to when the original heliport was opened by Westland Helicopters in 1959.
