First new Do 228NG handed over

September 24: The first RUAG Do 228NG (New Generation) aircraft has been handed over to Japanese customer New Central Airservice (NCA) at a ceremony in Oberpfaffenhofen in Germany.
From October the Do 228NG, s/n 8300, will start regional transport services in Japan connecting Tokyo and offshore islands. NCA has been operating three Dornier Do 228-212 aircraft for more than ten years – “We are very satisfied with the Do 228,” said Tetsuro Mori, owner of the airline.
At the ceremony RUAG also announced an order from the German Federal Office of Defense Technology and Procurement (BWB) for a Do 228NG Special Mission aircraft to be used for oil pollution control over the German North and Baltic Seas.
