Etihad’s Economy Flying

ABU DHABI-BASED Etihad Airways has launched an all-Economy service on some regional flights within the Middle East and Indian subcontinent.  The airline, which prides itself on its excellent onboard service, particularly in its premium cabins, has configured a single Airbus A320 in a 162-seat arrangement.  This is a significant transformation from the 120-seat layout it normally has on the type, but still much more spacious than the 180-seat design utilised by many other A320 operators.  The aircraft entered commercial service on October 31 and is being used on one of the airline’s double daily flights to Damascus, its four flights per week to Alexandria as well as daily to Thiruvananthapuram, four times per week to Colombo, three times weekly to Calicut and twice weekly to Peshawar.
