New HQ & Chief For oneworld

AIRLINE ALLIANCE oneworld is to move its headquarters from Vancouver to New York City.  The decision follows US and EU approval of the transatlantic joint venture between cornerstone partners American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia.
The organisation said that this will enable its central alliance team to “keep its finger right on the pulse of the world’s single biggest air travel market.”  The facility in Manhattan will also accommodate the offices of AA, BA and other alliance airlines.
Former IndiGo and Sama Airlines’ CEO Bruce Ashby has been appointed to lead the alliance.  He previously spent 16 years at US carriers before leaving US Airways in 2005.  He then joined IndiGo as CEO, before moving to Saudi Arabian low-cost carrier Sama Airlines in 2008.
