West African Growth

AIR NIGERIA has announced its plans to further increase its fleet to 15 aircraft within the first half of 2011, following the recent delivery of its tenth aircraft.  CEO Kinfe Kahssaye said in a statement that the airline has been implementing “a fast and profitable growth and turnaround plan which has already indicated significant improvements on our financial performance.  Milestones within the last half year have included the launch of flights to Congo Brazzaville, as well as the reintroduction of flights to Benin, Owerri and Kano thus bringing our domestic route network coverage to six destinations.  We plan to build a modern aircraft maintenance facility to undertake major aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul, which will contribute to capacity development within the shores of Nigeria.”
