Kuwait Airways’ Privatisation

ACCORDING TO the Chairman of Kuwait Airways, the carrier expects to be privatised by the end of March 2011.  Hamad Al Falah said, “the transformation procedures are in the final stages.”  The country’s parliament approved a plan in 2008 to privatise the loss-making carrier, saying that it would sell 40% of the flag carrier to the public and 35% to a long-term investor.
The carrier’s fleet of five Airbus A300s had been temporarily grounded in December for checks, but have now resumed operations.
