Etihad Appoints Egypt Manager

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has appointed Magdi Labib as Country Manager for Egypt, with responsibility for Etihad commercial operations throughout the country.
Mr Labib has more than 21 years experience in the aviation industry in the Middle East and UK, and held the position of Country Manager in Kuwait for Etihad since April 2006.
Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, said: “This appointment is yet another reflection of our ambitious growth plans for Egypt. Magdi’s extensive commercial experience in the Middle Eastern aviation sector will prove invaluable in his new role, and we look forward to welcoming him to our team in Egypt.”
Mr Labib joined Etihad in February 2005 and moved to Kuwait to inaugurate the airline’s daily operation in July 2006.  Prior to that he worked for British Airways, where he was responsible for commercial activities in the Central Province in Saudi Arabia from 1999 until 2001.  He also worked for the airline as Regional Business Executive Africa and the Middle East based in London from 1997 until 1999.
