Jervis B Webb Acquires Logan Teleflex US

AS THIS edition went to press, the Jervis B Webb Company – a material handling solutions provider – announced that it had completed the purchase of all shares of Logan Teleflex, Inc, (Logan US) on April 1, 2011.  This was part of a larger transaction that also involved Webb’s parent (the Daifuku Company, Ltd.) acquiring the shares of Logan Teleflex (UK) Ltd and Logan Teleflex (France) SA.
Logan US is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky.  Webb and Logan US say they have been developing a comprehensive plan to accelerate business growth through the sharing of technology and products, as well as engineering, manufacturing and sales/marketing resources and expertise.
“Working together enables us to better serve our customers with a wider variety of products, as well as to provide competitive pricing to large and small airports throughout the United States and Canada,” said Ken Hamel, Webb’s Senior Vice President of Airport Systems, who was recently named President of Logan US.
Webb manufactures its baggage handling systems in Boyne City, Michigan, while Logan Teleflex, Inc, builds its products at Louisville, Ky.  Their engineering and project management teams are located in Michigan and Kentucky, respectively.
