Panorama Lounge Wins Award

Swissport International has announced that its Panorama Lounge at Zurich Airport in Switzerland has received the ‘iF Communication Design Award 2011’ in the hotel/spa/gastronomy category.
The ‘iF Design Award’ is an internationally recognised seal of design excellence, awarded by the ‘iF International Forum Design’ organisation based in Hannover, Germany.  Introduced in 1953, the awards celebrate creativity, aesthetics and quality, and select the most outstanding solutions and projects from around the world.
The Panorama Lounge, located at Dock E of Zurich Airport, was renovated by Swissport in 2009, and embraces cutting-edge architecture and exclusive design.  The renovation project was led by architect Daniela Saxer.
Business and first-class passengers of more than 20 airlines enjoy this space every day.  With 150 seats in an area of 480 square metres, it offers all the advantages of a luxury business class lounge, including an impressive view over the runways, and panoramic pictures by photographer Derrick Feole.
Swissport Zurich’s CEO, Adrian Melliger, said: “It’s an honour to receive this internationally acclaimed design award.”
