Strike Threat Lifted

Airline pilots’ union BALPA announced on July 7 that the threat of strike action at Virgin Atlantic has been lifted.
The union said that a secured offer from the airline would be put to members in a ballot.  However, details of the offer will not be released until it has been “communicated to members”.
Last month, Virgin Atlantic pilots decided to go on strike following disputes about pay.
BALPA General Secretary Jim McAuslan said:  “Pilots have never wished to inconvenience the travelling public, especially those looking forward to summer holidays.  We have therefore lifted the threat of strike action.”
