Pristina Construction Begins

WORK TO BUILD a new €140 million (US$199m) terminal at Kosovo’s Pristina International Airport began in May.  Construction is in the hands of the Turkish-French consortium, Limak Holding and Aeroport de Lyon.  The building will cover 290,635sq ft (27,000m2) and will have 828,848sq ft (77,000m2) of parking aprons.  Also included is an ATC tower and car parking space for 1,750 vehicles.  The project is scheduled for completion by November 2012 and will increase the airport’s capacity from 1.5mppa to 4mppa.  Limak will then assume responsibility for running the airport for 20 years.
