ALSTEF obtains second African order

ALSTEF has been selected by Chinese company SINOHYDRO to install new baggage conveyor and screening systems at the Bamako-Senou International Airport in Africa.
The French company will supply the systems at both departure and arrival levels at the new terminal.  They include 16 check-in desks for standard bags, a PEDS line with automatic separation of suspicious bags and sorting on a carousel.  Oversized bags will be screened and transported on a separate line.  It will also include three arrivals carousels.
All EDS machines for cabin and hold baggage, metal detection frames and other security equipment will also be supplied in time for the terminal’s opening in summer 2012.  It is claimed that the systems will be among “the most secure in sub-Saharan Africa”.
ALSTEF’s first contract at the airport in 2009-10 required the renovation of the existing terminal, including 11 check-in desks, all baggage conveying and screening equipment and a new arrivals carousel.
