Score with AirAsia

International carrier AirAsia has teamed up with the UK’s Queens Park Rangers Football Club (QPR), sponsoring its official away and third shirt.  The airline hopes that this new partnership will further elevate its brand and achieve greater reach to consumers globally.
The sponsorship will be in place for the next two seasons.
AirAsia’s Regional Head of Commercial, Kathleen Tan, says the airline is “thrilled” with the partnership.  “This is a timely and significant relationship between two brands which are keen to take on any challenges for the taste of success,” she said.
In conjunction with the announcement, AirAsia is launching a special QPR-themed promotion, ‘Score with AirAsia’.  Passengers are being offered fares from as low as £6 (US$10) from Kuala Lumpur to domestic destinations in Malaysia and international destinations, including Brunei, Yogyakarta, Hanoi, Macau, Guilin, Chiang Mai, Clark, Hat Yai.  The booking period opened today and will run until September 20, with the travel period set between January 3 and March 31, 2012.
The partnership with QPR is the latest in a long line of sports that the airline has supported, including Team Lotus (Formula 1), Philippine Patriots (basketball) and AirAsia British Grand Prix (MotoGP).  It also runs a motorsport talent development programme via the AirAsia Team Lotus Driver Development Programme.
