Cobham Awarded QantasLink Contract Extension

Cobham has been awarded an AUS $500 million (US$507m) extension of its current Boeing 717 QantasLink operations contract through to 2018.  The deal involves the expansion of the carrier’s flights into Queensland while increasing the number of Boeing 717 airframes flown by Cobham from 11 to 13.  As part of the expansion, a new operating base will be establishment at Brisbane in early 2012.
The contract agreement with Qantas was signed on October 17, 2011.  Cobham’s current QantasLink contract would have expired in 2013.
“This is a significant expansion of Cobham’s operations in Australia as the nation’s largest contract aviation company, and will see Cobham adding 50 more staff.  The extended contract strengthens our 20-year relationship with Qantas, enhancing the service we currently supply to QantasLink and for passengers in regional and remote Australia.  This is a credit to our very professional and dedicated team and I’m delighted that it provides a further five years to our valued relationship with Qantas,” said Cobham Aviation Services Vice President, Peter Nottage.
