Wroclaw to be Ryanair Base

On October 19 low-cost airline Ryanair announced it would open a new base – its 46th – at Wroclaw Airport, Poland, in March 2012.  The Irish carrier says it will base one Boeing 737-800 aircraft to operate six new routes that will bring the total number of Ryanair destinations offered from Wroclaw this summer to 21.

The airline’s six new Wroclaw routes are; Beauvais (France), Bournemouth (UK), Chania (Crete), Malmo (Sweden), Malta, and Treviso, (Italy). 

Ryanair says that that the move will: “deliver up to 800,000 passengers per annum and sustain 800 jobs in the Wroclaw region.”
