Manchester and East Midlands Airports are to benefit from Government funded road links.

In his Autumn Statement, delivered to the UK’s House of Commons on November 29, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced that the British Government is to fund two major airport road link improvements.
It will invest approximately £165 million (US$257m) in a new dual carriageway road linking the M56 motorway at Manchester Airport to the A6 trunk road south of Stockport.  At the same time it will provide £160 million (US$250m) for the A453 widening scheme which links East Midlands Airport (pictured), the M1 motorway and the City of Nottingham.
