Singapore Festivities

Singapore Changi Airport has decorated its Terminals 2 and 3 with giant, live perennial plants shaped in the form of iconic world landmarks, as part of its Christmas festivities.
The topiaries, which stand up to 30ft (9m) tall, include the Eiffel Tower, Sydney Opera House, Temple of Heaven, and Singapore’s very own statue of the mythical creature, the Merlion.  They are all accompanied by decorative lights.  Floral displays and Christmas trees can also be found throughout the terminals with poinsettias, reindeer, sleighs, baubles and gifts.
To throw in an “extra element of fun”, the Angry Birds characters – from the popular smartphone game – are also highlights of Changi’s 2011 festive celebrations.
The airport’s retail outlets have also extended their opening hours and will now close at 01:00am on Friday and Saturday nights until December 23.
