New Palma Base for Ryanair

Budget carrier Ryanair has today announced that it will open its 49th EU base at Palma Airport in March 2012, with four based aircraft operating 47 routes.  The airline also says it will serve 2.8 million passengers a year from the Balearic base and will sustain up to 2,800 jobs.
In addition to Ryanair’s existing 30 Palma routes, 17 new routes will be introduced from Palma to Aarhus, Cork, Gothenburg, Haugesund, Kaunas, Krakow, Maastricht, Malaga, Magdeburg, Marseille, Oslo, Paris Beauvais, Poznan, Santander, Santiago, Stockholm and Tampere.  All tickets for these routes are due to go on sale on December 14 on Ryanair’s website.
