Regional airline Flybe has awarded contracts for full ground handling services to Menzies Aviation at two of its biggest UK bases, Birmingham and London Gatwick.
The agreement is for a period of three years commencing on March 31, 2012, at both airports.
Menzies already provide similar services for the airline at Edinburgh, Glasgow, East Midlands and Luton airports.
Craig Smyth, Menzies’ Managing Director, said that he was delighted with the contracts.  He commented:  “We have had a relationship with Flybe for five years in the UK and to add these two stations to our joint portfolio gives both companies a strong platform for our future together.”
According to Flybe, it is now the third largest slot holder at London Gatwick and is the airport’s most punctual and largest domestic carrier, operating ten routes.  It is also Birmingham Airport’s largest scheduled carrier, with 22 routes and 400 staff at the facility.
