MIA Welcomes LAN

South American airline LAN Colombia has started a four-weekly service from Bogotá to Miami International Airport, USA.
The inaugural flight on February 1 was welcomed by Miami-Dade Aviation Department and LAN Colombia officials with a water-cannon salute and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.  Passengers on the first Miami to Bogotá flight were also served coffee by ‘Juan Valdez’, the famous character from the marketing campaign for the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia.
The new service will be operated with an Airbus A320 aircraft.  The airline is the newest affiliate of the growing LAN family of passenger carriers serving the airport, including LAN Chile, LAN Ecuador, LAN Argentina and LAN Peru.  Miami is now the only US airport with service from all five carriers within the LAN Group.
