Strike action by apron controllers, which has disrupted operations at Frankfurt Airport, is due to end at 2200CET tonight (February 22). The strike was previously expected to continue until the weekend.
The decision was made after the GdF union accepted the airport operator Fraport’s written offer to renew talks over the pay dispute. With no preconditions, talks will begin tomorrow at executive board level.
Fraport’s Executive Board Chairman Dr Stefan Schulte commented: “In the interests of the passengers, airlines and our airport staff, we welcome the resumption of talks to seek new solutions at the negotiating table.”
