New NAV Portugal Board

The Portuguese Government has appointed the new Board of Directors of air navigation services provider NAV Portugal.  Unlike the previous five-member Board,  the group now comprises Luis Ottolini Coimbra (pictured) as President, with General Luis Palma de Figueiredo and Carlos Manuel de Abreu as members.
Mr Coimbra has 34 years of experience in the civil aviation sector.  Over the years, he has worked with ANA Aeroportos de Portugal as Director of Airport Planning and Development, as Deputy Director-General of Airports and most recently as advisor to the Management Board of Directors.
He is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics.  Between 2003 and 2007, Mr Coimbra was a member of the Board of Directors of the Portuguese Civil Aviation Authority (INAC).
General Figueiredo is a pilot and has commanded several air squads and an air base during his military career.  He was Staff Director, Inspector-General, Logistical Commander and advisor to the Portuguese Air Force on the National Ministry of Defence, and was appointed as the force’s Deputy Chief of Staff in 2009.
Mr Abreu is an air traffic controller and was the Head of the Operational Standards and Regulations Department at NAV Portugal.  Most recently, he was Head of the Air Navigation Department in the Air Navigation and Infrastructures Directorate of INAC.  He has a degree in Law and a masters degree in Space Law, Aviation Law and in Airports and Air Navigation.
