Philadelphia Airport CEO Receives Award

Philadelphia International Airport’s CEO Mark Gale has received the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) Executive of the Year award, in recognition of his leadership in the airport’s initiatives and successes that support COMTO’s mission.  He was presented with the award at the organisation’s 41st National Meeting and Training Conference in Denver on July 24.
COMTO has 39 chapters throughout the United States, including Philadelphia, and its mission is to: “ensure a level playing field and maximum participation in the transportation industry for minority individuals, businesses and communities of colour through advocacy, information sharing, training, education and professional development.”
Mr Gale was selected for his leadership, efforts and accomplishments including COMTO service, activities and contributions; hiring and promotion of minorities in executive management and supervisory positions; ensuring growth in contracting opportunities for historically disadvantaged business enterprises; and leadership in supporting equal opportunity and increased access for minorities.
Under Mr Gale’s leadership, Philadelphia Airport has held economic opportunity forums that have attracted hundreds of participants, sponsored COMTO general meetings, and supported COMTO in getting public high school students to participate in its annual career day.
