BAA to Sell Stansted Airport

Following July’s Court of Appeal ruling, airport operator BAA has decided not to appeal to the Supreme Court and is now proceeding with the sale of Stansted Airport, UK.
A statement from BAA reads:  “We still believe that the Competition Commission ruling fails to recognise that Stansted and Heathrow serve different markets.”
The announcement marks the conclusion to a three-year legal battle, since the UK’s Competition Commission ordered the operator to sell three of its airports in 2009.  Gatwick and Edinburgh airports have already been sold.  (Image:  BAA)
