Amsterdam Schiphol ‘WWII Bomb’ Found

Pier C at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport has been evacuated and closed this morning (August 29) after construction workers found what appears to be a World War II bomb.
A statement from the airport says that a bomb squad is investigating the finding.
Passengers have been advised to check with their airlines as the closure of the pier may “have implications for air traffic in the form of cancellations and delays”.
Schiphol was used as a military airfield by Nazi Germany during the 1939-1945 war and was often attacked by allied bombers, according to the BBC.  (Image:  Schiphol)
