Lufthansa Cabin Crew Strike

Cabin crew representatives for German airline Lufthansa have outlined strike plans for the next few weeks, following the collapse of pay talks between the airline and the UFO union.
The union, which represents 18,000 Lufthansa flight attendants, has said it will only give a few hours’ notice for most strikes and will focus on selected airports.
UFO wants a 5% pay rise after a three-year pay freeze and has demanded that the carrier stops hiring temporary workers.  It has also asked for a better profit-sharing scheme and a guarantee of job security.
A statement from Lufthansa has said that the airline has already offered a pay rise of around 3.5% and is willing to negotiate further.  (Lufthansa)
