Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), USA, has named Vanderlande Industries as the official Operations and Maintenance provider for its Terminal E in-line baggage handling system (BHS), as well as its 35 passenger boarding bridges (PBBs).
The $11.5 million contract will be in place over the next four years and includes a team of almost 50 people. Vanderlande will also be responsible for maintaining the new BHS which is scheduled to be installed during the same period.
The two companies have worked together since 2003, when Vanderlande was selected to install a $27m in-line screening project at both Terminals B and E. Since then, Vanderlande has provided the airport with services from its spare parts division.
In addition to the new contract, Vanderlande will introduce its VIBES remote monitoring and Business Process Intelligence software and hardware. This tool will be installed on both the existing and the new BHS. (Image: DFW)
