Lufthansa Strikes Continue

Cabin crews of German airline Lufthansa will strike again tomorrow (September 4), according to Reuters news agency.  Labour action by the crews and their union UFO on Friday (August 31) led to hundreds of flight cancellations and brought Germany’s largest airport, Frankfurt, to a halt.
UFO has said that it plans to strike for longer than eight hours and has indicated that it will affect more airports, although it failed to indicate where and when flights would be affected.
The union is demanding a 5% pay rise and guarantees that Lufthansa will not outsource jobs and use temporary workers.  The airline has so far offered a 3.5% pay increase in exchange for longer working hours.
