UK Airports Expansion Plans?

Following Tuesday’s (Sept 4) cabinet reshuffle, the UK government has pledged to analyse how the country’s airport capacity can be expanded.
Prime Minister David Cameron has said that a commission, chaired by previous Financial Services Authority boss Sir Howard Davies, will also look at a potential new airport to the east of London.  The body will publish an interim report next year, before giving its final report in 2015.
The debate for building a third runway for London Heathrow has grown further, since Justine Greening was replaced as Secretary of State for Transport by Patrick McLoughlin.
